Now that we have the lowest common denominator, we can simply convert our numerators and add them like in our previous example and get our final answer.
Tip!- When you get your answer always check to see if it can be reduced. Reducing is possible when both the numerator and denominator are divisible by the same number. For example, if our answer where 9/12, we could reduce this to 3/4 because 3 goes into both 9 and 12 and 3/4 cannot be reduced further.
